| Kierans Brothers Limited have been an established part
of the business life of Drogheda for over seventy years. When the
business commenced in the early 1920's, the emphasis was on the butchery
trade, but as people's tastes became more refined, the business was
adapted to suit these changing ways. Over the years the store at 15
West Street Drogheda has gained a reputation as one of the foremost
pork and bacon stores in Ireland and our motto "We lead and others
follow" is actively pursued. |

| In 1965 Kierans Brother Ltd became one of the first
businesses outside Dublin to open a delicatessen and we immediately
set about creating a unique niche for ourselves by specialising in
the production of our own cooked meats. To this day, we are proud
to say that our cooked hams, roast turkeys and other meats contain
no additives! Recently Sally and John McKenna in their book "The
Irish Food Guide" wrote of our products - 'The honey baked ham,
prepared and sold here is truly superb: crusty, scored and singed
on the outside, filled with flavour throughout; you cannot do better
than pack a few slices between two chunks of the brown bread made
specially for Kierans by a lady from Dunleer'. |
